WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF ELEMENTARY LEVEL?

You will be able to:

  • meet a foreigner and exchange personal and family information
  • describe where you live and give directions to famous places in your city
  • talk about past experiences and make future arrangements.

WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF PRE-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL?

You will be able to:

  • communicate with an English speaking friend by email on familiar matters such as work, university, and leisure etc.
  • deal with most situations likely to arise in an English speaking country.  

WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF INTERMEDIATE LEVEL?

You will be able to:

  • discuss different social customs and norms in your country, and compare them with a colleague or acquaintance
  • describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF UPPER-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL?

You will be able to:

  • discuss current news items with a group, giving and justifying your opinions
  • write texts on a wide range of subjects giving advantages and disadvantages of various options.

WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF ADVANCED LEVEL?

You will be able to:

  • understand most television programmes and films and read and understand complex literary texts
  • write about complex subjects in a letter, an essay or a report clearly expressing your opinions
  • speak spontaneously and use English flexibly and effectively for social and professional purposes.
